WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8th - Microfinance Internship Panel
Wondering how to spend your summer? Thinking about how you can find an internship that’s fun, exciting, and does some good in the world?
Come to the MICROFINANCE INTERNSHIP PANEL on Wednesday, February 8th at 1:00pm in IAB 413! Jointly organized by SIPA’s Microfinance Working Group and CBS’ Microlumbia, the panel will provide a candid look at the opportunities available to students considering careers in microfinance and social enterprise.
In addition to the panel, there are lots of other great reasons to come:
GIVEAWAYS FROM UNIQLO! UNIQLO and Grameen have worked together to create a series of products promoting the good microfinance can do. We’ve got shirts and bags from UNIQLO that we’ll be raffling off to attendees at the event.

FOOD! There is such a thing as a free lunch. Southern cooking will be provided by Soul Sister Quisine, based in Brooklyn.
GREAT SPEAKERS! Nicole Gates, the owner of Soul Sister Quisine, has received microloans from Grameen, one of the world’s best-known microfinance organizations (its founder, Muhammad Yunus, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006). Nicole will talk about the nuts and bolts of microfinance from an entrepreneur’s perspective. Watch a preview of Nicole’s story here:
Among the organizations represented by the panelists are:
First Access, Elevar Equity, Unitas Advisors, Kiva, Accion, Grameen Foundation, Women’s World Banking, FINCA, Moody’s, PlanNet Finance, MicroWorld, ResponsAbility, Center for Microfinance, and the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs.
